FUT/STRIP METHOD HAIR REPLACEMENT LOS ANGELES

FUT/STRIP METHOD HAIR REPLACEMENT IN BEVERLY HILLS

Most men and women who suffer with hair loss lose it mostly on the top of the head, while the hair at the sides and back remains relatively thick. Hair transplantation involves transferring hair from the thicker areas of the scalp to areas where hair loss has occurred due to hereditary or other causes.

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is considered the gold standard in hair transplant techniques. It is a state-of-the-art method of hair transplantation by which hair is replaced in bald or thinning areas with naturally occurring individual follicular units taken from the back of the scalp.

Dr. Saul Lahijani in Beverly Hills understands that hair loss can be traumatic, affecting self-confidence as well as appearance. He serves the greater Los Angeles with a range of hair transplantation procedures, including FUT/strip method hair replacement for patients with more extreme hair loss issues.

WHAT IS FUT/STRIP METHOD HAIR REPLACEMENT?

Hair transplantation is a popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S. According the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 16,784 hair transplantation procedures were performed in 2016, representing an 8% increase over the previous year.

In FUT/strip method hair replacement, a strip of tissue is removed from the back of the scalp after which the individual hair follicles are dissected and transplanted to areas of the scalp where the patient has thinning or balding areas.

Individual hair follicles can also be implanted to produce thicker eyebrows, mustache, or beard. The transplanted hair follicles quickly take root and begin growing after a resting period of a few months, and continuing to grow for the life of the patient.

It has been concluded scientifically that the hormone DHT can attack and shrink hair follicles. A discovery was made in the 1950s that the hair on the back of the scalp does not have the receptors for those hormones, which means that FUT/strip method hair replacement may produce not only natural- looking but also long-lasting results, even for patients with hereditary baldness.

ADVANTAGES OF FUT/STRIP METHOD HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

The FUT/strip method has certain advantages over the follicular unit extraction (FUE) method. It is less labor-intensive so more grafts can be transplanted in a single day. The grafts may contain up to 4 hair roots and could produce better results. When performed by a skilled plastic surgeon, follicular unit transplantation can provide you with dramatic, natural-looking results in as few as one to two sessions.

BEVERLY HILLS FUT/STRIP METHOD HAIR REPLACEMENT

To achieve the results in restored hair you want, the FUT/strip method of hair transplantation requires more grafts and greater technical skill on the part of the surgeon than older hair transplantation methods. Follicular units are removed from the back of the scalp in a single strip, then separated from the donor strip and trimmed under a microscope to create micro-grafts. The surgeon must transfer each follicular unit intact to the recipient site, placing the grafts in close proximity in an irregular pattern mimicking natural hair growth. Dr. Saul Lahijani performs FUT hair replacement with a high level of skill and artistry and consistently achieves increased hair density with a very natural appearance for his patients.
